Vendor status

Vendor status page

A vendor status page is the provider-published source for incidents, maintenance, and service state.

What it means

A vendor status page is a public page or feed where a provider publishes the state of its services. It may show components, regions, active incidents, resolved incidents, maintenance windows, and incident updates. It is useful because it is the vendor's own published statement, but it is limited to what the vendor chooses to publish.

Why it matters

During an incident, teams need to separate what the vendor reports from what their own users or endpoints observe. A vendor status page can provide official wording and timing, but it does not prove tenant-specific impact or replace uptime monitoring of endpoints you control.

How CertPilot uses the term

CertPilot's Vendor Status Watch reads official public vendor status feeds and caches provider-reported status. It is not synthetic uptime monitoring, does not probe customer endpoints, and does not confirm SLA breaches. It helps teams keep vendor-reported status in one place and preserve evidence context.

What to record

  • Vendor status page or feed URL.
  • Provider-reported state, component, region, and timestamp.
  • Incident wording and update history when relevant.
  • Your team's observed impact and communication note, kept separate.

What not to assume

  • A green status page does not prove your tenant is unaffected.
  • A vendor incident does not prove your endpoint is down.
  • Status data is not an SLA determination by itself.
